The Position
The Project Engineer role offers a blend of office and field work and provides the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the business and financial side of construction, along with a plethora of field experience working on unique and complex projects. The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the team in all aspects of the construction project including planning, bidding, construction, and closeout. 
 
The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and the Superintendents in preparing project schedules, logistic plans, work scopes, and management of the project document control process. The Project Engineer is also responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications to develop the project’s submittal log and material status report, reviewing submittals and process management, and expediting materials to the job.
 
Project Engineers can take multiple career paths to continue to grow and gain exposure to Midwest Steel’s complex and unique projects.    

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Willingness to put in the time and effort required to be successful in construction
  • Passion and energy for construction
Compensation, Benefits, and Structure
This is a is a full-time, salaried, and exempt-level position, with a pay rate to be determined based on skills and experience. The position is eligible for the Company’s discretionary bonus program.

Recruitment Process
The recruitment process will include two phone screens, at least one in-person interview, candidate assessments, and a pre-employment background check and drug test.
