Our client is a comprehensive sales and marketing firm focused on all aspects of brand building, encompassing extensive experience in the conception, planning and execution of customer based initiatives. Located in Southfield, MI, the Company has been in business for over 25 years, and many customers have been with them since inception. Our client offers a variety of exciting projects and works with top-tier automotive companies in the Metro-Detroit area.

The Position
Starting in the Summer or early Fall of 2018, the Business and Marketing Co-op candidate will gain real-world experience focusing on developing and maintaining supplier relationships, maintaining accurate records, working with management on projects dealing with media relations, business communications and success stories as well as many other day-to-day tasks. The Marketing Intern has the opportunity to assist with promotional products by interfacing with suppliers and working directly with the Company’s internal professionals.
This is a great opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge and exposure that aligns with a degree and career path in Business and Marketing, while also incorporating class-room skills and education.

The schedule for the Marketing Intern has a reasonable amount of flexibility and will be discussed prior to hire. While the Company is open to part-time or full-time hours, it is preferred that the Intern works a set schedule to deliver consistency to the team. The Company is also open to the overall length of the Internship, the opportunity is not limited to a season or semester. The flexibility of the schedule allows the Marketing Intern to gain work experience while completing their degree. 

Targeted Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred  
  • Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation
  • Great problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
  • Strong typing, grammar and proof-reading skills
  • Experience with Word and Excel
 Compensation, Benefits, and Structure
The position is part-time, with a competitive hourly rate based on skills and experience.
Recruitment Process
The recruitment process will include 2 phone screens, 2 in-person interviews, candidate assessments, and a pre-employment background check and drug test.
