The Position
Due to the retirement of a key staff person and the promotion of another person, the Company is adding a Structural Engineer to its team! This individual will act in a Manager role as the primary company resource for engineering processes, technical information related to fabrication designs, and interpretation of blue prints and specs.  Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing recommendations and support for both the shop (fabrication) and field (erection) sides of the business, as well as overseeing third-party engineers, designers, and detailers to ensure that they are performing safe and efficient connections during the full project cycle.
Overtime, it is expected that this position will develop into a management role with oversight of additional staff and resources. Currently, the “Manager” part of the title refers to this being the lead engineering position and the management of processes and systems within the organization.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Steel is required.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the structural steel fabrication and erection  industry, with a minimum of 2 years’ engineering experience
  • High technical aptitude and desire to be focused on design, interpretation of designs and prints, and related information.
  • Strong team-focused attitude
