Our client is the nation’s leading Structural Steel contractor with a history of stability and success building projects in a variety of industries around the country. The Company is involved in the construction of complex buildings and structures across the country, for example: Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, River Point Tower in Chicago, Florida Polytechnic University in Florida and much more.
 
The Position
The Company is hiring a Engineering (BIM) Coordinator that will work with the Engineering Manager to produce, review and manage 3D modeling, project drawings and documentation as well as using Revit to do quantity take-offs and proposals. The Engineering Assistant will act as a subject matter expert on BIM related issues, ensure projects have defined BIM execution plans, and will be responsible for communicating with project teams and subcontractors. 
 
This position will have the opportunity to work closely with project managers, subcontractors and designers to have a direct impact on complex and unique projects. Limited travel to project sites and our fabricator partner, Indiana Bridge, will be required. This position has long term growth potential as the company expands modeling into pre-proposal phases of the projects.   
 
Targeted Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • 2 years of experience in the engineering or construction field
  • Working knowledge of Tekla, Navisworks, SDS/2 and Revit software
  • Strong attention to detail
