The Position
General Filters is looking for an HVAC Product Specialist (HVAC/Furnace Accessory/Indoor Air Quality Product/Installation expert) to join its growing team and make a direct impact within the Company. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this self-motivated individual will be responsible for technical and product related evaluation and troubleshooting. Technical issues include, but are not limited to, resolving installation issues; product recommendation and identifying and troubleshooting product failures. The HVAC Product Specialist will also be responsible for performing demonstrations and installation of products at Trade Shows and in other sales related environments. The goal of this position is to transfer technical expertise to corporate personnel, sales agents, and customer base, as well as HVAC contractors and installers.
 
Targeted Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • A thorough understanding of residential forced air heating systems, equipment and accessories (furnaces, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, air cleaners, air purifiers, ERV/HRV’s)
  • Previous experience as an HVAC Technician is a plus!
  • Knowledge of oil burning heating systems
  • The ability to troubleshoot and communicate diagnostic and repair procedures via the telephone, email and other social media
  • The ability to evaluate products returned for repair/credit
  • The ability to train wholesaler and contractor employees on products and product installation
  • The ability to travel for customer training and services purposes
  • Strong computer skills, including Windows 7 and 10 and proficiency in Microsoft Office package, including PowerPoint: expert in Excel and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
  • Highly motivated and able to efficiently function in self-directed work environment
 
Compensation, Benefits, and Structure
This is a full-time, permanent position, with a competitive salary structure based on skills and experience. The position has standard office hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with peak season hours extending to 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The job will have limited hours and added flexibility in the summer months.

The Recruitment Process
