The Position
Primarily focused on industrial and commercial concrete packages, the Concrete Estimator and Project Manager works with customers and owners to secure profitable projects for the Company. This person will be responsible for managing projects from cradle to grave, from the initial Invitation-To-Bid to the pre-construction planning through project scheduling, budgeting and cost control, and final close-out. This position develops accurate cost estimates by determining costs for equipment, material, subcontracts, construction labor, engineering, construction management and indirect costs.
 
The Concrete Estimator/PM will join a tight-knit, hard-working team that works closely with the team in Michigan. Fessler & Bowman makes a direct effort to fully integrate its regional offices and avoid the corporate vs regional mentality. Preferred Experience, Skills and Abilities:
  • 5+ years of Estimating and Project Management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is preferred, but not required
  • Direct experience in estimating concrete packages, such as shored slabs, elevated slabs, press pit foundations, flat work, and more
  • Willingness to put in the time and effort required to be successful in construction
  • Ability to balance the Company’s interests and risks with the project owner's interest
