The Accounts Payable Specialist Position
The A/P Specialist is responsible for handling Accounts Payable, including reconciling invoices with receiving documents, invoice entry into the accounting system, and communicating with project managers and superintendents to confirm information. This role assists with other functions, such as the process of posting daily cash receipts, assisting with customer billing, managing account reconciliations and assisting in general administrative duties in the office. Generally speaking, our fast-paced accounting and administration team handles a variety of tasks on a daily basis and keeps the team organized and humming along!
With many projects in process, this position requires the ability to change gears quickly while never losing sight of the details. The A/P Specialist is critical to keeping the business, protecting our interest, and also keeping our vendors and subcontractors happy with prompt payments.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist
Compensation, Benefits, and Structure for the Accounts Payable Specialist
- At least 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
- High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and with experience in accounting systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Thorough understanding of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures
- Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

The Recruitment Process for the Account Payable Specialist
