Located in Lyon Township, MI, SW North America is a technology focused company that supplies solutions for demanding, workpiece-specific manufacturing systems for the metal working industry. SWNA’s equipment is used worldwide, particularly in the automotive and aerospace industries, in hydraulics and pneumatics manufacturing, and in many other emerging fields and markets.
The Company is hiring a Mechanical Technician
to its team to manage all activities related to the custom build and repair of CNC machines, including fabrication, construction and install. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will play a vital role in SWNA’s operations and contribute to the overall success and growth of the Company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the set up and tear down of CNC machine tools, as well as automation and robotic systems. This includes connecting the electrical and pneumatic supply to the machines, filling and checking all necessary fluids, carrying out minor repairs, and preparing machines for transport. The position will also support the service department and assist with daily functions as needed.
Please note this position also requires the ability to travel nationally approximately 25% of the time.
Targeted Experience, Skills, and Abilities
Compensation, Benefits, and Structure
- Associate’s degree within the Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
- 3+ years of related experience
- Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and laser systems
- Knowledge of CNC equipment (FANUC or Siemens are a plus)
- Strong technical and mathematical skills
- German speaking ability preferred, but not required
