The General Manager Position
Uptown Coffeehouse is looking for a General Manager to oversee all coffeehouse operations, including all administrative functions, such as inventory, ordering, scheduling, budgeting, accounting, etc. The General Manager will handle employee management throughout the company, including the hiring, training, and coaching of staff members to deliver extraordinary customer service and products in a positive work environment. For an individual to be successful as the General Manager, they need to have an upbeat, positive attitude, as well as a high level of enthusiasm and passion for their work and is self-motivated.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the General Manager Position
  • At least 5 years of management experience in the Food & Beverage industry is required
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, and teamwork
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Software experience in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and social media is preferred, with curiosity to learn new technology
Compensation, Benefits, & Structure for the General Manager Position
This is a full-time, permanent position (averaging 40 hours per week) that offers a competitive salary based on skills and experience, quarterly bonus potential based on company success, a monthly health insurance stipend, paid time off, discounts on products, growth potential within the company, and a fast-paced, upbeat environment. The General Manager reports to the Founder/Owner of Uptown Coffeehouse.

The schedule will fluctuate based on the needs of the business, so availability is essential. The position will combine hands on and administrative throughout each week, serving as Barista/Cashier as well.
