Jay Dee Contractors, is a nationally recognized construction firm and the largest underground tunneling contractor in Michigan. Jay Dee is looking to add an Administrative Assistant based in their Livonia, Michigan Corporate Office.

Additionally, this position offers a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days of remote work.

The Administrative Assistant Position
The Administrative Assistant supports a busy, thriving team! Supporting all human resources functions, the corporate office, and the executive leadership team means that no two days are the same. Organization, proactive thinking, the desire to learn, and a “can-do” attitude are essential attributes for this role.

The position reports to the HR Manager and assists with a wide range of HR functions including, but not limited to, hiring and onboarding processes, benefits enrollment processing, recruitment event planning, internship program oversight, and assisting with general policy updates. Additional office job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administrative support to the executive leadership team, general marketing and social media updates, Company fleet management, event coordination and planning, and special projects as requested.

Targeted Experience, Skills and Abilities
  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of general administrative/office experience.
    • Experience working in the construction industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.  Flexible, proactive and responsive.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Technical capabilities with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. 
    • Experience with Prezi, PhotoShop, Illustrator, or InDesign is a plus.
