Populist Cleaning Co. is a thriving Commercial Cleaning & Janitorial Services provider that has served businesses in Southeast Michigan since 1980. The Company is looking to add an HR Manager to its expanding team! 

The HR Manager Role:
The HR Manager plays a pivotal role in upholding policies and procedures per the company’s and ownership’s vision and goals, while also maintaining a positive work environment for employees. The HR Manager position is ideal for someone looking to make a true impact on the business, while having the opportunity to have a flexible, hybrid schedule and to be a part of a growing and collaborative team! The position is based at the Ypsilanti office and only requires approximately 35 hours a week.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Processing and running payroll and handling tax filings & payments
  • Benefit administration and auditing
  • 401k management
  • Full employee lifecycle experience
  • Supporting and leading compliance and training programs
  • Lead, manage, and provide accountability for the Administrative Department
  • Other general business duties as required and assigned

Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities of the HR Manager:
  • At least 3-5 years in a Human Resources role, preferably in a small to medium sized business
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred, but not required
  • Experience in a service-based industry is preferred, but not required
  • Willingness to engage in collaboration, problem solve and take action
  • Ability to learn and grow with an expanding company

Compensation, Benefits & Structure of the HR Manager:
This position is a flexible 30-35 hour/week permanent position and includes a competitive salary structure based on skills and experience. The Company also has a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401k with a generous company match, profit sharing, and paid time-off.

The Recruitment Process for the HR Manager:
The recruitment is designed to be a thorough, two-way evaluation to ensure that the best decision is made by both the Company and the candidate. Given this, multiple steps are required, including two preliminary phone/web-based interviews, two in-person interviews, candidate assessments, and a pre-employment background check and drug test.
