Ready for a Purpose-Built Career?

For over 60 years, O'Brien Construction has worked to enhance the quality of our communities through our expertise as team builders and constructors, specializing in multi-family housing, municipal and commercial buildings. We are a Construction Manager and General Contractor with a mission to develop lasting relationships built on mutual trust and respect.

O’Brien Construction builds so much more than senior housing and historical renovations.  We’re building trust, pride, and a better world than it was yesterday – one job at a time. Because that’s what it means to be Purpose Built.

Building a career is like building anything else - it takes the right plan, the right team and the right commitment. When you work with O’Brien Construction, we can promise you will: accomplish work you’ll be proud of, work with great people, and grow both the community and your career.

The Construction Internship Position:
As the Company continues to focus on identifying permanent, full-time hires following graduation, we are adding multiple Interns to join our team for the Summer of 2023. Interns have the unique opportunity to work directly with our experienced team to gain hand-on experience in an ever-changing field! Working alongside the Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Estimators, Accountants and other leaders provides interns the opportunity to see how a successful construction operates. Interns will have responsibility for a wide range of duties, allowing them to make impactful contributions to the team.

The positions offer the unique opportunity to work with a family-oriented, relationship-focused Company while gaining first-hand exposure to construction projects. O'Brien Construction is truly a cool place to work and has recently been recognized by Crain’s as such!

Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Intern position:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, or a related field

  • Desire to gain hands-on experience and grow within the industry

  • Hard-working and dependable

  • Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively

  • Passion and energy for construction

Compensation, Benefits, and Structure for the Internship Position:
This is a part-time, temporary position that is designated to identify and mentor individuals that will become permanent, full-time hires after graduation. The position offers a competitive hourly wage, the opportunity for career growth, mentorship, and a team-based culture.

The Recruiting Process for the Internship Position:
The recruitment process is designed to be a thorough, two-way evaluation to ensure that the best decision is made by both the Company and the candidate. The process will include a phone interview, in-person interviews, candidate assessments, and a pre-employment background check and drug test.

O'Brien Construction Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to building a diverse team.
