The Safety Technician Position The Safety Technician supports and enforces the safety program company wide. The Safety Technician works closely with the Safety Manager and Corporate Safety Manager to carry out safety initiatives and ensure proper safety compliance. The following descriptions are representative of, but not limited to, the expectations for the position.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Support implementation of the site-wide safety program and provide technical guidance
Engage and collaborate with line supervisors to ensure compliance with all safety policies with emphasis on-site operations
Conduct and document regular site inspections to ensure safety program is being adhered to
Maintain a visible presence through coaching and mentoring of programs in the field
Collect, analyze, and report performance metrics. Stimulate improvements to procedures and safe work practices to help meet goals.
Preferred Experience, Skills & Abilities for the Safety Technician Position
At least (2) years of safety experience is preferred
Experience as a corporate Safety Trainer is preferred
OSHA 30-hour certification
Experience in developing Job Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Plans for construction sites
OSHA 510 – OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry preferred
Current certifications in First Aid & CPR is preferred
Bilingual- fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred but not required
Compensation, Benefits & Structure of the Safety Technician Position This position includes a competitive salary structure based on skills and experience with a comprehensive benefits package. The position is based in the North Carolina office and requires travel between job sites and offices.
