The Controller Position The Controller is responsible for oversight of AP, AR, Payroll and Purchasing. This position will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and will work closely with leadership to assist in the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan. The Controller role includes a mixture of hands-on, day-to-day duties and high-level strategic responsibilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to sales reporting, P&L forecasting, weekly expense reports, general ledger reconciliation and journal entries. The Controller supports the company’s long-term growth and fiscal stability, including active engagement in the reporting, budgeting process, and analyzing of financials.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the ControllerPosition
3-5 years of previous business Controller experience is required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related experience
Prior knowledge in the Lawn, Landscape, or Snow Removal industries is preferred
Ability to provide hands-on support with strong accounting and organizational skills
Attention to detail and good communication skills
Proficient in QuickBooks & Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
