The Position
The Pre-Construction Estimator is responsible for working with the project team to establish order of magnitude project budgets, schematic design estimates, design development estimates and to perform value analysis at every project design milestone. Specific tasks include:

The position is full-time, permanent, and offers a highly competitive compensation package. The Position
The Pre-Construction Estimator is responsible for working with the project team to establish order of magnitude project budgets, schematic design estimates, design development estimates and to perform value analysis at every project design milestone. Specific tasks include:
- Material takeoffs for all civil, structural and architectural trades from preliminary plans
- Coordination of mechanical and electrical consultant estimators
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, including the Project Director, Project Manager, Superintendent, and Project Engineer
- Tracking and forecasting construction costs relative to the SE Michigan construction market

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities for the Estimator Position
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, but not required
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in the construction industry preferred, ideally as an Estimator
- Proficiency in various construction software programs, preferably in WinEst
- Attention to detail and willingness to put in the time and effort required to be successful
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of self-motivation
- Desire to learn and grow with a passion and energy for construction
