The Project Engineer role offers a blend of office and field work and provides the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the business and financial side of construction, along with a plethora of field experience working on unique and complex projects. The The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and the Superintendents in preparing project schedules, logistic plans, work scopes, and overseeing document control.
Midwest Steel ensures that all Project Managers are well-rounded and understand the steel business from the ground up. This means that the newest Project Engineer will go through a training process that includes actual hands-on in the field and spending time in the fabrication shop at Midwest Steel's sister company, Indiana Bridge. Other key highlights of the job include direct experience working along side experienced Superintendents, working with project managers on unique projects, and having the opportunity to grow into an Assistant Project Manager before ultimately having the opportunity to become Project Manager that runs high-profile, complex projects!
In addition to the Project Management career path, Midwest Steel provides its Project Engineers with growth opportunities into Estimating, BIM Engineering, Scheduling, and other positions.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities
This is a is a full-time, salaried, and exempt-level position, with a pay rate to be determined based on skills and experience. The position is eligible for the Company’s discretionary bonus program.
