The Position
The Project Manager works directly with the GC/CM and project owner to ensure projects meet expectations and run smoothly from start to finish. This position specifically requires someone to act as the onsite PM and represent the Company in a positive and professional manner, ensure the Company's best interest on the project, and coordinate and work in coordination with F&B's Site Superintendent. The PM has a variety of responsibilities that include, but are not limited to: document control, project scheduling, change order management, quantity tracking, material scheduling, budgeting and cost control, and final close-out of the job.

Our newest Project Manager’s first assigned job will be a large concrete project in Asheville, NC. After this project is completion, depending on the candidate's preference and availability, he or she could then be headquartered out of Michigan or North Carolina or could be a travelling PM, working primarily on out-of-town projects.

The Project Manager will work directly with the senior leadership and project management teams, be directly involved with interesting and complex heavy civil projects, and be apart of a team that values hard-work and dedication. With Fessler and Bowman's continuous growth, this person will have the opportunity to grow with the Company and take on more challenging projects.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
  • 5 years of Project Management experience is preferred; F&B is open to considering candidates with less (and more, of course!)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to balance the company's interest with the project owner's interest
  • Organized and capable of managing the 900+ tasks, details and changes that come with every large construction project
Compensation and Benefits
Rewards for this position include a significant base salary, annual performance bonus plan, Employer-paid medical benefits, a 401K match, paid time off, and a strong team-based environment. Additionally, the Company provides long-term growth opportunities for its people.

The Company does provide Per Diem for employees working out of town. The Per Diem is based on a healthy daily rate for the entire time the employee is assigned to the project.

The Recruiting Process
The Recruiting process is designed to ensure the right fit for both the Company and the candidate. The process will include a combination of phone interviews and in-person interviews, candidate assessments, a pre-employment background check and drug test.

The goal is to have someone hired and on-board as soon as possible.
